Happy International Women’s Day!
International Women’s Day was founded following the 1910 International Women’s Conference. March 8th was chosen in line with the day that women gained suffrage in Soviet Russia in 1917. A largely socialist day of celebration until 1975, it was then adopted by the United Nations. According to Wikipedia, in some countries, International Women’s day is a public holiday, in some, it is a day of protest, and “in others, it is a day that celebrates womanhood.”
Here at Force Mujer, we are the latter, a place that celebrates womanhood. We will bring you the stories of amazing women who have achieved amazing things, have fascinating jobs, have made outstanding contributions to the media. And sometimes, we might just have a bit of a chat.
