If you’re anything like us, you’re obsessed with Instagram. My spare time is normally spent mindlessly scrolling. Instagram, and more broadly, social media has a bad rep at the moment. Too much screen time being linked to increased stress and depression and while we agree that you should absolutely limit how much time you spend scrolling, we decided we would list some of the accounts that we follow on ForceMujer that have a positive impact on our lives. We’re talking women smashing it in business, providing motivation to exercise more, read more, do more, without making us feel like crap at the same time. So if you must spend time scrolling, make sure you fill your feed with women who make you feel good. Here are our top accounts!
The girl boss
Girl tribe gang is an account that was set up in support of the girltribegang website, a website created to provide support and empowerment for women who work for themselves or work 9-5 while also grafting away at their side hustle. The Instagram account is full of advice for the self-employed, shout outs for like-minded girl bosses and a growing community of women providing support and a workforce.
Jen’s account is all about sewing (and of course the usual lifestyle posts) and she boasts an impressive self-made wardrobe. Her grid is colourful patterns, progress reports and final pieces all modelled by Jen herself. She’ll also talk you through her makes on stories so if making clothes is up your street then get following Jen for some top tips and sewing inspiration. You can catch up on her blog too; gingerella.wordpress.com
The feel good insta
Emily is the founder and creator of The Happy Newspaper, which, as you may have guessed, is a platform to share all that is good in the world (she’s even been featured on the good old BBC!). Her Instagram account is filled with positive quotes and beautiful, bright pastel themed pictures. She’s a whirlwind of positivity and it’s impossible not to get caught up in her smile and enthusiasm. If you’re feeling blue, I’d recommend her account and website.
It can be demoralising to watch really fit people jumping about on Instagram telling you how to move your body and what to eat, but Amy manages to share her passion for exercise and food prepping without making you feel like you’re not good enough. She posts homemade cookie (SINGLE SERVE SALTED CARAMEL VANILLA PROTEIN COOKIE LOOKS INSANE) or doughnut recipes proving that life is all about balance. She’s non-preachy in the way she talks about relationships with food and body positivity. She also blogs over at The Bath Blogger.
The zero waster
If you’re as keen to reduce your waste and save the planet as we are you need to fill your feed with some zero waste queens. Our favourite right now is Kate and her feed is all about demonstrating how you too can live a zero waste existence, think plastic-free grocery shopping and upcycling.
Yep, you’re right. This isn’t the first time we’ve spoken about Sarah on ForceMujer; you may remember we featured her as part of our Mother’s Day special – Sarah. Over on her Instagram page, she shares her love of books. You can see what she’s been reading as well as reading her reviews. It’s a great page to check out if you’re looking for your next read!
The foodie feed
Sarah’s food pics don’t just look great, they taste great. We can personally attest to trying at least two of these recipes, which goes to show that unlike many other food-based pages, Sarah’s food is actually achievable and you won’t walk away hungry!
The ultimate wanderlust
What makes Becca’s Insta different from all the other travel pages, is that Becca is an actual, real-life, pilot. Not only does she take the most breathtaking photos of some stunningly beautiful places, but she also flies herself there. If you ever want an escape, this is the page to peruse.
